Visit Þingvellir, Geysir and Gullfoss in style in one of our premium day tours, run exclusively in small groups of no more than 17 people.
Our day tour to the Golden Circle begins with our fast and efficient pick up service. You simply need to wait at your hotel or at one of the designated pick up points and let us take care of the rest. Once we have all our guests we will set off from the city and journey to our first major destination.
Kerið volcanic crater will be the first stop we make. Kerið is one of many crater lakes located in this area. It became a popular destination due to it’s vivid red lava rock that contrast with the aquamarine waters created by the mineral composition in the surrounding soil.
Following from Kerið we make a unique stop at a local farm called Friðheimar. Located near to the town of Flúðir (home of the secret lagoon), Friðheimar is a visitor friendly tomato farm and an ideal location to stop during your Golden Circle tour. The farm is more than just it’s greenhouses though as they also have a highly active horse breeding program. They currently have around six first-prize award winning broodmares and you will get a chance to visit with them as we include a visit to the stables where you will learn more about the Icelandic horses and their unique gaits. You will also get a chance to see the inner workings of the Friðheimar greenhouse where you will receive a talk on how they manage to produce such high quality vegetables in a country known for its long, dark winters and also a chance to sample some of the tomatoes that the farm is well known for.
Our next stop is at Gullfoss waterfall. Gullfoss, translated as the Golden waterfall, is a large waterfall that drops a stunning 32m over two stages. It is fed from the white river which originates from Iceland’s 2nd biggest glacier. The area is intertwined with a mixture of history and myth surrounding plans to build a hydroelectric dam that ultimately fell through due to the efforts of one girl and her protests to preserve the nature.
After the waterfall we will make our way to the Geysir Geothermal area. The area gets its name from a specific hotspring known as the “Great Geysir” a large geyser in the area that that gave us the English word ‘Geyser’. Geysir itself is no longer able to erupt without assistance, but luckily there is still activity here to be seen and Geysirs sister hot spring Strokkur still erupts frequently. There is also a large visitors centre here and a great spot for you to buy some lunch.
The last stop on our tour is Þingvellir (Thingvellir) National Park. This is the site where the world’s first parliament was formed when the old Viking group leaders decided to join together on a yearly basis to discuss the events and laws of the land. This area is also notable as being the location where the Eurasian and American tectonic plates are separating from each other creating the Silfra fissure, a popular diving spot.
After the National park we will head back to Reykjavik.
The duration of the tour is 8 hours

Pick up services
Missing the pick up does not entitle you to a refund for the paid services. You are responsible for being ready at the designated pick up location at the scheduled time. Pick up locations vary from tour to tour but we always try our best to pick you up as close to your accommodations as possible. New regulations from the city of Reykjavík has hindered our ability to drive our larger vehicles within the city center so you might be required to go to the nearest bus stop.
