Join us as we journey out of the city of Reykjavik on a trip to see the elusive northern lights. Our premium version of this tour is run exclusively in small groups of no more than 17 people in a bus.
Please note that it’s not possible to guarantee the Northern lights, we do not leave town if weather conditions are not right and will re-schedule for another night.
Starting off in the city, pick up is included in your price so you will be collected from either your accommodation or the nearest pick up point in Reykjavik. Just let us know where to get you and we will take care of the rest. Once all of our guests are accounted for then our northern lights hunt can begin.
Reykjavik has high level of light pollution, making it difficult for good viewings of the aurora. To overcome this issue we go out into the darker countryside to hunt for the lights. You will be joined by one of our experienced northern lights guide who will have loads of information to share with you.
With a little bit of luck you will find an amazing spot to view the Aurora borealis. With a maximum group size of 18, you can be assured of a much more intimate experience that is more flexible and spontaneous.
When you reach the location that your guide has selected as being the best point for a sighting then you will have some time to get out of the bus to see the lights. You will have plenty of time to take some photographs, If you are struggling then your guide should be able to help you setup your camera.
The duration of the tour is 3-4 hours.
Please note, children under the age of 8 are not permitted on this tour.

Pick up services
Missing the pick up does not entitle you to a refund for the paid services. You are responsible for being ready at the designated pick up location at the scheduled time. Pick up locations vary from tour to tour but we always try our best to pick you up as close to your accommodations as possible. New regulations from the city of Reykjavík has hindered our ability to drive our larger vehicles within the city center so you might be required to go to the nearest bus stop.
