Surrounded by a forest, deep into a lava cave, by the shores of a red-sand beach or on the top of a glacier, we bring the restaurant to you and use the unspoiled Icelandic landscape as our venue! Depending on the season, feast under the Northern Lights and/or the Midnight Sun!

The Retreat Spa - Blue Lagoon

A Haven of Luxury and Relaxation

The Retreat Spa at Blue Lagoon, introduced in 2018 as part of Blue Lagoon’s expansion, offers a refined combination of luxury and wellness. Built within an 800-year-old lava flow, this subterranean spa harmonizes natural elements, thoughtful design, and the restorative qualities of geothermal seawater. It provides a serene escape, allowing guests to disconnect from the outside world and immerse themselves in relaxation, rejuvenation, and exploration.

The spa experience is designed to guide your mind and body toward peace and renewal. Guests move through volcanic spaces featuring steam rooms, saunas, a cold plunge pool, and the soothing warmth of the Retreat Lagoon. The panoramic viewing deck and other spaces create opportunities for reflection and a deeper connection with Iceland’s striking landscape.

At the heart of the Retreat Spa is the Blue Lagoon Ritual, a transformative three-step experience that uses the natural treasures of geothermal seawater: silica, algae, and minerals. Silica cleanses and strengthens the skin, leaving it fresh and radiant. Blue Lagoon algae nourishes and hydrates, promoting a youthful glow. Minerals exfoliate and revitalize, enhancing circulation and skin health. This ritual is a sensory journey that fosters a sense of calm and well-being.

The Retreat Lagoon, an exclusive extension of the Blue Lagoon, provides a tranquil and private atmosphere. Its mineral-rich waters flow through a terraced landscape of lava, winding through canyons and open spaces. Guests can enjoy the healing and rejuvenating properties of geothermal seawater while taking in the dramatic beauty of Iceland’s volcanic environment.

The Retreat Spa also features a variety of treatments, including in-water massages and beauty therapies, performed in elegant subterranean suites. Additional highlights include the Nest—a peaceful lounge with suspended chairs and floor-to-ceiling windows—and the Lava Spring, where water gently drips from above, creating a calming atmosphere.

Most visitors spend 4-5 hours at the Retreat Spa to fully enjoy its offerings. Combining luxury with Iceland’s raw natural beauty, the Retreat Spa at Blue Lagoon delivers a truly memorable journey that revitalizes both body and mind.
