Embark on a journey of the senses, powered by the elements.
Sky Lagoon is about that Icelandic feeling of warmth and wonder. With every step there is a new and exciting way to get to know Icelandic culture, with the tradition of geothermal bathing leading the way.
Designed to be a visual and spiritual experience, Sky Lagoon invokes all the senses: the salty scent of the Atlantic Ocean, the sounds of the wildlife and the ocean tides, the feel of the warm geothermal water and the taste of the local cuisine at Smakk Bar. But perhaps the most powerful of all are the inspiring and captivating views from the 70-metre infinity edge of the lagoon.
Private Helicopter flight from Reykjavik. From the air, the volcanic black sand beaches of South Iceland seem to stretch out forever. This is where Iceland hugs the Atlantic Ocean, a place where sediment carrying glacial rivers battle the might and erosion of the North Atlantic. In the distance, looms the famous Eyjafjallajökull volcano, with its gleaming glacier cap, canyons and tumbling waterfalls.
Entering Vatnajökull National Park from the air is a truly unique sight. Home to the largest ice cap in Europe by volume, this massive wall of white has over 30 outlet glaciers flowing and crashing down from its giant ice cap. Our first stop is at the base of one of them, where we take a closer look at one of the natural wonders of Iceland. At touch down we spend 30- 45 minutes exploring Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon and its luminous bright blue icebergs, some of which are more than 1000 years old. Here you might even catch a glimpse of Iceland's playful seals!
Overnight at a Private Lodge in the South of Iceland
Today we discover the most well-known natural sites of Iceland, connected by the Golden Circle route. We visit the largest lake in Iceland, Thingvallavatn, and the Thingvellir National Park. This national park is the oldest national park in Iceland and is listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List for both natural and cultural importance. This is the only place in the world where The North-Atlantic Ridge comes to the surface, so you can see its composition. Here was also in 930 AD established Althing, the world’s oldest parliament still in operation.
In the Geysir area, you can see Strokkur, a 20-meter geyser, erupt every few minutes. The best view of the geysers is from the nearby hill with new walking trails, from which you can also see the surrounding landscape. The big Geysir, which gave name to all geysers in the world, is unfortunately not active anymore.
Waterfall Gullfoss is famous for its two cascades, perpendicular to each other. The glacier river Hvítá runs from Langjökull glacier, which you can see from the waterfall on days with good visibility. And on sunny days, a shimmering rainbow can be seen over the waterfall.
